Where legends begin

A history worth purring about.

The Maine Coon is one of North America's oldest natural cat breeds, admired for its rugged beauty, intelligence and famously friendly nature.

🌲 Born in the Northeast

The breed developed in the state of Maine in the northeastern United States, where a thick, weather-resistant coat and sturdy build suited cold winters.

⚓ A working cat

Maine Coons were valued as capable farm and ship cats. Their strong bodies, alert minds and confident hunting instincts made them excellent companions around people.

🏆 A show-stopping breed

Maine Coons appeared in early American cat shows in the 19th century. Their popularity later grew worldwide thanks to their striking appearance and gentle temperament.

💙 Gentle giants

They are often playful, curious and people-oriented. Many enjoy following their humans from room to room, chatting with soft chirps and trills.

Breed history is a short introduction; individual cats can vary in personality, size and behaviour.
